The Commonwealth Journalists Association (CJA) expresses deep sorrow at the passing of ASM Habibullah, a distinguished journalist and respected member of the media community.
Habibullah served as Chief News Editor of BSS and later as Secretary General of the National Press Club. He was also a member of the executive committee of the CJA, contributing to journalism both nationally and internationally over a decades-long career.
In a statement, CJA President Parveen F. Chowdhury expressed deep condolences, describing Habibullah as a journalist who upheld the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
Habibullah’s passing marks the end of an era for Bangladesh’s media community, where he was widely regarded as a dedicated and principled professional. He passed away at the age of 91. His legacy of integrity, commitment, and service will be remembered with deep respect.
